Welcome back to Lunch Break, a weekly newsletter to help you create a work life that works for you.

It’s been a minute since I’ve taken you behind the scenes of my own business! This letter may be (read: definitely is) prompted by a well-meaning message essentially asking what I do with my time as an entrepreneur. 🙃
Well, my business has two main verticals: coaching and content. The content umbrella includes this weekly newsletter, corporate seminars + public speaking engagements that I lead, and almost-daily posts across social media. Creating career growth content lets me connect with a broader community about more general career topics, which keeps things refreshing and varied.
My coaching practice, though? That’s where I get to go deep with a select few.
Pivot With Purpose is my primary coaching program, where I spend most of my time- and the program has evolved quite a bit in the year-plus since it launched.
Today, I’m bringing you behind the scenes into the recent upgrades and mini-pivots that have made my main coaching business more effective for my clients and a lot more enjoyable for me to manage and build!
1. Scope– PWP is now focused solely on full-time corporate pivots
Someone looking to pivot into a better ‘corporate’ job needs a different strategy and support than someone who is ready to leap out of the traditional working world. I had to decide who Pivot With Purpose was really meant to help, because it couldn’t be a truly effective resource for both groups. So the scope of the program got a lot more specific at the beginning of this year, truly homing in on the unique challenges and needs of the corporate millennial ready to find more empowerment and fulfillment within the corporate environment.
(This decision also gave me the space to think about a different coaching offering specifically for those of you who want to move out of corporate and pursue entrepreneurship– more on that next month!)
2. Content– Refining tools to be more corporate-specific yields quicker results
With the more specific program focus, I audited each resource and exercise in PWP to make sure it truly served the corporate pivoter, and I created a more refined tool called the Pivot Blueprint, in partnership with a former Learning & Development colleague of mine.
The Pivot Blueprint is a two-part assessment that helps you zero in on *what* kind of job is really right for you, and *where* you want to do that kind of work (the company, industry, etc.). The moment I rolled out the Pivot Blueprint, PWP members saw an immediate surge in momentum and clarity. They called it “refreshing,” and “amazingly structured.”
If you’re trying to aim your arrow, the Pivot Blueprint is your compass.
3. Collaboration– We moved from Facebook group to Slack for voice notes, DMs, and channels
Before you roll your eyes, Facebook really did work as a business tool for a little while! That’s where our first-ever cohort of Pivot With Purpose asked questions, gave each other feedback, and watched group session replays. I decided to switch to Slack when a new member told me they didn’t use Facebook for data privacy reasons and asked if I’d consider using something else.
Now that we’re in Slack, we have more room for specific channels (like connections, resource recommendations, and daily wins), and private DMs for me to support individual members daily, in the same space.
4. Individual Support– PWP is now a hybrid of group and 1:1 coaching
Speaking of individual support, it’s not just in Slack. Where PWP used to be solely group coaching, it’s now a mix of group and one-on-one. I knew I wanted to incorporate personal touch points for each member into the experience as soon as I could, and since I found the right system, I’ve heard that it’s the perfect blend of individual focus and group encouragement and accountability. It’s also unlike any other career change program I’ve ever come across on the market.
5. Time– Six months of support as you clarify, pivot, and lead
Because the goals of Pivot With Purpose are 1) to clarify the career path you want, and 2) to land an amazing new job on the path, I chose to extend the length of the program from three months to six. This way, you have enough space to consider your options and choose your next move with intention, but not too much time to get complacent. The average PWP member is finishing up their job search by the end of their six months in the program, and use their time with us post-offer to position themselves for leadership opportunities at their new companies.
Iteration is crucial to build something meaningful.
PWP members are iterating on their own professional identities in pursuit of meaningful careers, so the program itself will continue to evolve to help them do that as effectively- and with as much fun- as possible!
If you made it this far and think Pivot With Purpose is exactly what you need to move from career burnout to clarity, I invite you to apply to our Fall cohort. You’ll get a Fast Track bundle to make up for lost time, and you’ll secure the founding price for the last time! Click here to apply now.

🍱 IN THE LUNCHBOX (curated recommendations)
READ: Serena Williams for VOGUE’s September Issue
Williams says, "There comes a time in life when we have to decide to move in a different direction... I'm finally discovering a different, but just as exciting Serena." I'm moved by Serena’s honest piece about her personal and professional evolution. You may think something defines you right now-- your career, your sexuality, even your geographic location-- but you're allowed to explore and embrace new, exciting, authentic versions of yourself. I promise.
ORGANIZE: Jules Acree’s Notion templates
I’m a big Notion user, keeping my Virgo moon in check with a neat collection of personal and professional dashboards. Well-being creator Jules Acree has created some stellar Notion templates, namely the “Design Your Year” pack. I’ve been using the weekly and daily planners for about a month now and highly recommend them!
BREATHE: Op_e__n Guided Meditation & Breathwork
Influenced by a slew of wellness folks on the ‘gram, I downloaded the Op_e__n app to give breathwork another whirl (it’s been about two years since my last foray, interestingly right around the start of you-know-what). I’ve already stuck to a 3-week streak in the “Rest” category, clocking in some of the best sleep I’ve had in a long time. The app is paid, but you can start a free two-week trial. In NYC or LA? Op_e__n also hosts live meditations for members on a regular basis.
